Troutdale Track Club
You dont have to compete to belong to Troutdale Track. We offer three programs: Fun and Fitness, Introduction to Track and Field, and USATF's Junior Olympics.
Fun and Fitness
We welcome recreational athletes who like to run, jump, and throw. We welcome athletes who want to maintain fitness during the spring and summer for the sport they are primarily interested in like football, basketball, volleyball, soccer, wrestling, even competitive cheer.
Introduction to Track and Field
Athletes who have never competed in track and field but are interested have two avenues. Some may wish to compete in local competition in the Portland area via "fun runs". These meets are informal and a great introduction to the track world. Others may wish to compete at a higher level such as the USATF Junior Olympic Developmental meets or AAU meets. Most of our competitive athletes participate in both. This program lasts about eight weeks.
USATF Junior Olympics
This is the avenue for athletes who enjoy competitive track and field and wish to compete against the best in Oregon, the Northwest and even nationally.
This program runs from March to August.
TTC had 7 athletes recognized as Oregon Junior Olympians in 2008.
All seven competed in Spokane at Region 13 Championships (Alaska, Idaho, Washington and Oregon) and three qualified for the national meet in Omaha.
In 2009 TTC had 15 Oregon Junior Olympians, eleven of which competed at regionals.
Two athletes qualified for nationals.
Two were state champions (girl's discus 11-12yo, boy's 3000m 15-16yo).
